Georgia State University's campus was live with excitement on April 12th as the National Collegiate Entertainment Group (NCEG) joined forces with Georgia State University (GSU) and GSU Spotlight for the highly anticipated 3rd annual Spring Carnival. Promising an evening packed with carnival rides, games, great food, and electrifying live performances, this event did not disappoint.
NCEG, known for its pioneering work in artist development, music education, and entrepreneurship within college communities, was proud to contribute to an event that promised to leave a lasting impact on the student experience for years to come.
The lineup of talent was as diverse as it was dynamic, featuring a mix of certified entertainers, members, and alumni from NCEG and GSU. From Jazzy Tha Rapper, an NCEG alumna, to emerging artists like D'ANDRÉ and DreTL from GSU, the stage was set for an unforgettable night of music and entertainment.
Notable performances included a captivating set by Jazzy Tha Rapper, who returned to Georgia State to share the stage with the next generation of artists. Other alums like ARZLEE and Maya Ayam also made appearances, showcasing the enduring legacy of talent fostered by organizations like NCEG and its predecessor, the Panther Entertainment Group.
The event also marked significant milestones for many of the performers. D'ANDRÉ kicked off his tour with a bang, making GSU Carnival his first stop. DJ Wavy H2O and Fire n IIce brought their talents back from SXSW to perform for a collegiate audience for the first time. DreTL made a highly anticipated return from hiatus, while Jay Activist traveled from NCEG Chapter II at Kennesaw State University to showcase his skills in Atlanta.
H.E.R.U and Gaitway, following their record-breaking appearance on TRK.Rec, continued their streak of shows at GSU with a performance of their hit song "Get High," further solidifying their status as rising stars in the music scene.
The evening was expertly hosted by DJ Prince B, who alongside DJ Wavy H2O, kept the energy high and the crowd engaged throughout the event. Alumnus and artist manager Versus was also in attendance, showing support for the next generation of talent.
Founder, Derek Jackson of NCEG, expressed his gratitude for the partnership with Georgia State University, emphasizing the showcase of talent and the commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and collaboration among students.
As the night came to a close, attendees left with memories of an exhilarating event and a newfound appreciation for the vibrant arts community at Georgia State University.
